Abstract

This study examines the role of MSMEs in Indonesia’s Halal ecosystem, focusing on governance, certification, and participation challenges. While Indonesia offers strong growth potential, MSMEs face barriers such as limited access to certification, infrastructure, technology, and financing. The study highlights the roles of BPJPH, LPH, and MUI, as well as dual certification schemes that balance compliance and accessibility. Key issues include traceability, supply chain complexity, and inconsistent labeling, which affect consumer trust. The findings emphasize the need for stronger institutional support, improved access to certification, and enhanced collaboration to build an inclusive and competitive Halal ecosystem.
